That red plant is very pretty, is it a real plant or plastic? I love the deep red coloring

Thanks for sharing with us.

How do you get such clear pics? Do you use zoom on the lense? Do you use a flash? What kind of camera?

biggrin.gif

I have a digital camera and it takes photos way better when I turn the flash off.

They really do seem curious about things that look over or come close to the tank don't they? It's so cute.

Nice pics Jasmine

i have taken over 250 photos of my axies and tanks in the last 6-7 weeks lol so i know what u mean
happy.gif

there just soooo good to watch
happy.gif

my camera is awsome... it a sony cyber-shot 5.1 mp, i put the flash on low and hold it on an angle along the side of the tank so it doesn't reflect the light... i prefer not to use the zoom cause it's not as good in quality, my babies dance right up the front of the tank all the time.
my plants are plastic, they're easier and last longer, and the colours are always so bright!!!
and Rob... Thank you. over 250 photos in 6-7 weeks! your as bad as me!! everyone thinks i'm mad, now i'm not alone in this madness!!!
crazy.gif
lol!!! i'm really intrigued with my babies, i get some strange looks cause i always talk to them and take so many photo's... their personality amazes me!!! i find them quite addictive...
thanks to everyone, your posts are always sweet!!! cause your all champs...
rofl.gif

Yep, I also love to take many pictures! It's addicting, I just can't help it, though nearly 75% of them I never post hehe. I pick out a few I think are nice and post them.

Sometime I'm going to make a scrap book of all of them... just as soon as I get some time.
happy.gif

a scrap book is the best thing to make!!! i just got a photo printer a few weeks ago and printed all my favourites (there's sooo many), cause nothing beats having photos in a book or something , in case anything happens to your computer... i paid 30 bucks for an a4 laminater and laminated all my photos so they last for ever and can never get ruined!

Lol you can make posters too. ^_^

I want to make posters of ones I will one day own and put them on my wall.
happy.gif

i can print directly onto cd/dvd too
so might make a few dvd's of my collection
happy.gif

They're great!
happy.gif

I love the grinning one, the one where it looks like he's just been thrown there like a javelin and the dancing one!

What sort of weird angle as he got his foot in the last one!? looks painful!
sick.gif

Gorgeous babies!Does Bec stand up a lot? My axie has just learned to do that. Do you think they may be trying to copy us humans??
lol.gif

lol Si they are amazingly flexible aren't they!
frog.gif

That's a good idea making a dvd of them. You should take small bits of footage of them doing their thing. ^__^

Ah.... jasmine..... This is all YOUR fault.!!
Because of you and your photo's, and you named the camera..... i did research and bought one today!!! Whew... mighty spendy, but looks like it will be great! Now, maybe i can take some decent pics of henry (even though he is dark) and post them!!!!

oh yes, where did you get that color sand ? is it the type for reptiles? that is the only place i could find it.

Hey theresa!!!!!!!
proud.gif
you wont regret it!!! it took a bit of trial and error but once you work out which settings are best you'll become obsessed with taking photo's too!!! i take mine everywhere! there's nothing better than quality photo's... i love all my photo's so much i got a laminater, and laminated every photo so they can never get ruined and you can stick em everywhere!!!! yay!!! you'll have so much fun.
rofl.gif

that sand is from Pet Magic, a small section of their store is for general pets, (cats, dogs, etc) but the rest is related to aquariums... they have a few reptiles, mostly fish, but all the gravels and sands were together, none of them had labels... the pet shop guy told me to get gravel, which nearly killed one of my axy's, so i went back and grabbed this sand which is great... i might be for reptiles? but its great!!! Cant wait to see some photo's soon!!!!

thanks si and sherri!!!! i've noticed a couple of times now, stewy sits with his foot tucked in like that... doesn't look very comfy!!!
Bec is quite mad... she was standing up like that for almost an hour, balancing on the bubbles just behind the plant!! she's so energetic every other minute of the day, she's great to watch...such a show off!! i love them both so much... and there will be a new arrival soon!!!!!
rofl.gif

i'd like to get a black one or really bright orange!! probably in a couple of days!!!
you've got a great profile pic!!!!!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
