Well the T. carnifex white group originates from a cave in Italy and has been brought into the Dutch Urodela circle now about 7 years ago (I think), where some people took the time to breed them in large(r) numbers. But they are not as easy to keep as their normal (and almost bulletproof) colored compagnions. They have not met with much success (no very large numbers popped up later)

Currently I have a group of 5 heterozygotic juveniles that have this recessive gen. In the next Gersfeld meeting (another 3 weeks) I'm practically sure we will see some juveniles popping up again and if all goes well maybe I may breed mine next year and hope to get some of those white out of that...

Come one everybody . the photo on the top is no karelinii but an flavistic carnifex. I bred a lot of them this year. I sold/trade about 50 of the size of the photo. Some people trade my white carnifex further.
Look to my caresheet how we breed them.

Everything is translated now in english
I have some white carnifex left and take them with me to Gersfeld to trade. Also some heterozygoot carnifex.
Well Henk, you can trade with me!
From who did you get that flavistic carnifex tim??

Harry & Pamela

The one at the top may very well have originated from you then, Harry.

The label at the shop said "minami kushi imori" -- which is Japanese for T. karelinii. But it was also later pointed out on a Japanese BBS that it is T. carnifex

Had a question that I just want to be sure of. My marbled newt is a little over a year old and has started to develop and I noticed that he is starting to swell a little below his abdomen. I guess I’d like to know if they are his testes or if I need to be concerned.

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!
