Here are the latest photos of my new fire-bellied newt, Ladybird:

Sorry that they're kinda dark and somewhat blurry. I need to work on my newt photography skills. The biggest problem is reflection.

My newt is mainly aquatic, but sporadically swims up to the surface to catch a breath of air. I wouldn't mind getting another because she's in a 25 gallon tank by herself. However, it's hard to find a reputable place around here that sells them. I don't want to buy anymore newts from the place I got Ladybird. Those newts weren't in the best of care. I was lucky to get a healthy one that eats and stays in the water.

To combat reflection, take pictures at an angle. Another thing is when shooting straight on, you can't use flash. You can temporarily put a light over the tank and use a camera without flash straight on and get some good pics.
