Just for laughs, and to prove its possible.

Oh Azhael,
I think I have the daughter of your dreams! My little 6 year old is forever bringing me worms that she has dug up, wants a pet cameroon caecilian, and takes great pleasure in helping me feed my zoo! She can't walk by a body of water without stepping in and her clothes stay muddier than either of her brothers!

Shannon.... she is a Jewel. Make sure she and the boys know that you love her much more than you do them. Make them sleep outside and scrounge for their food for a few days. They'll come around. :D

Wow! 6 Child?! You are the most busy of all of us members.:D
How you grab time to your animals with so many child orbiting you? xDD:ufo:
Lots of patience, :D And they love to help out with the zoo, as we call it around here. Most of them are a big help. ( I say most because my twins just turned four and can be less than helpfull sometimes, but they try so hard.:p)

And you don't have a docile species, you have Chinensis'. Hahaha.
Have they started fighting yet?

I'm suprised you got that reply during your conversation.

The last time I had that conversation, I was told that people who keep newts & the such (snakes, turtles, frogs, etc) are usually little kids & hippies stoners.

I took great offense as I'm not a child anymore!

LOL.

All i know is if i ever have a daughter she is going to be knee deep in mud until she is old enough to ignore me, and instead of barbies, her presents will be on the line of microscope, wader, wildlife encyclopaedia and such xDDD

You have just described my 8 year old daughter! hahaha. My 2 year old daughter however is like Godzilla and would probably stomp on them or eat them. But hopefully she will be interested when shes older. And my wee boy...he loves the newts. Again he will hopefully be into it all when hes older too!

Now that´s a mother talking! "My kids will keep newts when they´re older because I do, lol!"

hahaha shes seen pics of people's Axis on here and shes decided shes gonna clue herself up about them and home some when shes older :)

haha told you guys that girls are into axies. It´s what captivates them the most.
Cherry shes not that young. when shes 10 she´ll be responsible enought to keep one... I guess that if later she will not have same interest.

cheers,

Pfft. My interest has only festered into an obsession over the past six years. :) Not that there's anything wrong with that, or that it means I'm crazy. :uhoh:

Aha! It's my four year old boy, Ethan that wants the axolotl! Not my Deanna!!! She is happy with the eastern newts and yellow spotted sals! Ethan tells me every day he wants an "axo-waddo" as he says it!

It took THAT long?!?! Hate to tell you, but that makes you crazy! ;) lol

Welcome to the wonderful world of Axoholism!! I'm the self-nominated president!

I got lucky and found a girlfriend who wants to be wandering knee deep in mud as much as i do. and hmm i might not be a kid but i am a child. As for the hippie stoners, its sooooo coool feeding them sals when your a hippie "stoner".

Deliriah, there is no problem at all... There are exceptions in every place...what would be of the world if there were no exceptions...:D

why do some people think that kids( i being only 13) have no clue what amphibians are about. the only reason i have trouble with mine is that i have no funds(13- hard 2 get a good job) for the exact ideal care. im like alot of the adult with this 1 i normally end up educating the people in the pet store, the only pet store that can really educate me is that fish/pet place( fellow pennsylvanians and others that know what that is) and thats normaly on reptiels not amphibians. and i like waders and all but all of you people that like 2 kick off your shoes, take off your shirt and find salamanders in your local freezing mountan fed stream, tell all the people with their waders how much more fun it is. oh yea
