Jungle!!

They don't damage the gras while burrowing, the grass is very strong, and it keeps the soil on its place.

Sorry about the link, the video is 3GP (mobile phone), it only works if your PC supports 3GP.

lol, that last pic looks like hes smoking a fag

Where in holland do you live?

Hello Coen, I live in Brabant in Rijen near Breda & Tilburg, I cant find the video at Flabber.nl but I have posted it there a while ago.

Please post the link here so others can see it too, or send the link to chrisvo@msn.com

regards Christian

I love your tank, very original! The Tigers are beauties as well. Congrats!

@ Lewis;

Please post some pictures of your Salamandra's, those are my favorites..and legal in Holland......

I see that you are the proud keeper of Salamandra salamandra terrestris , Salamandra salamandra bernardezi and Ambystoma opacum

I'm jaleous....

Illegal in Holland you mean ;)

I'm sorry Christian but I can't find the movie you posted on Flabber, but it should be somewhere in the uploads section of the site

Hey, just in case anyone still wants to know, you dont have to use kids play grass, you can use just plain old bird seed, but get the bird seed with the most little seeds, avoid using big seeds, like sunflower and stuff. Good luck.

That is a good idea, you will get a more natural setup with those bird seeds, the grass will die if your salamanders dig a tunnel under it.

Luckely the biggest tunnel is under the water bowl

By small bird seed millet I assume. Would be interesting to find out what grass would be ideal for tanks. Wonder if in a land and water tank using small reeds/hairgrass/horsetails or similar would be possible.

How much light is over this tank?

I use two TL lights in my Tiger tank,( 36 watts? ) This is more than enough light, but I have to find a solution for the temperature, it will become to high in summer I'm afraid, its 20-23 celsius right now, and thats a bit to warm for my tigers.

The grass above the tunnel dies because there is no contact any more with the soil( I guess)
It doesn't collapse because of the moss that's left of the former set up.

Ooops, trying again...

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
