Is anyone else excited about the world cup?

teeheehee sorry.

I'm not a football fan either. I am lucky enough that my husband wont watch football either. Between that and this stupid Big Brother nonsense on the UK telly just now... its gonna be a long boring time for me TV wise.

Which is why I will lurk on here and do some reading and gallery lurking too :D

:bowl:

Please don´t lynch me, but i absolutely despise football xDD
While you people are open-mouthed, eyes like plates and in more tension than Pamela Anderson´s bra, i´m wondering why the heck the whole country must be submitted to the torture of yet another football cup...when...oh when will someone win the blasted football once and for all!!!

I agree! I'm not really into football, but then I love big brother so i have my own cross to bear i suppose.

How about Japan! That's been the most exciting game I've watched so far.

I pull for Italy, but USA games are the only ones I go out to watch. The game versus England was fun, seems like my town has some hardcore fans.

I am not a fan - I hate soccer, but the World Cup is an exciting event and I´ll watch many games. My favorites are the absolut outsider and I´m happy and jumping if they shoot a goal.
Here in Germany are many places where you can watch the games by public viewing, but I prefer laying on my sofa, some chips in my hands and watch the others running.:D

I just wish the games weren't so early here; I'd really like to see New Zealand.

I'm not a real fan but i like to watch the world cup.
Because Belgium didnt reach it AGAIN:cry:...I support for the Netherlands,Germany and USA.

I'm dreaming Italy-New Zealand 1-1!!!!!!:happy::happy::happy::happy:
Lets hope New Zeland wins agains Paraguay, bye bye Italy:p

I really hope Honduras can get a result against Spain tonight, it is heartbreaking to see under-dogs like North Korea being humiliated it was wrong of Portugal to keep scoring after 4 goals it was the football equivalent of taking sweets from a baby.

It has been good to see New Zealand doing so well

Come on Honduras do it for the under dog!

Something tells me the North Koreans won't be seeing today's game. The games aren't broadcast in North Korea for 48hrs (presumably for editing purposes i.e. editing out anything that makes Koreans look bad, like... 7 goals).

Someone told me that the small group of "Koreans" in the crowd were actually Chinese actors. Wouldn't surprise me, Stalinist dictatorships aren't known for their travelling fans.

I heard some korean players legged it and left for political asylum, is this true?
If it is, i think it might just be the first time something about football actually catches my attention xDDDDD

When I was watching the PRK game, commentators said it was live into the country. If that reached the people, that is another story.

I do think Portugal should have calmed down and held off, they just made it impossible (maybe) for the Ivory Coast to pass on. Next big thing is France. If Mexico and Uruguay have a draw, the French are out. Wild stuff in this cup.

If Portugal lose agains Brazil and Ivory Coast wins agains Korea=Portugal and Ivory Coast have both 4ptn.The country with the most goals is then second in the group.
Thats the reason Portugal did that.

Heheheh..... I hear ya. I'm surprised they even let them out of the country. The "Dear Leader" can get a bit tense and cranky at times.
On a side note.... I hear that the American Team is the most exciting thing in the World of Soccer since Pele.
Watching them is supposed to be like watching REALLY FAST paint dry! :p

No it is not, they would not think about that at this stage...they also know Ivory coast wont score 7 passed Korea and the Portugeese will always back them selfs to beat brazil.

they kept scoring because it made them feel like big boys.

you saw it last night with Spain and Honduras. Spain could have won that match 10-0 if they wanted to but they have respect for fellow proffesionals. and they are in a tighter spot than Portugal

Mac: whoever told you the USA team is the most exciting team at world cup know nothing about football!

I dont think Portugal can win from Brazil at this moment but whey shall see.

Its still possibel for Honduras to get through if its win from Switzerland and Chili can win from Spain.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
