Although i've raised many babies the eggs have never come from my own axolotls.
Today my Axolotl has laid eggs.

How do i know if they are fertile?

Congrats, Mel!

You'll be able to tell if they're fertile within a few hours/days. You should see signs of cell division (you'll have to look REALLY close).
 
Congratulation, Mel! :D Do you want to raise them?

In 2-3 days you will know if they are fertilized, when they become longish, like little beans.

Thank you I shall keep an eye on them.
I dont plan to raise many. Maybe 5 as i have 15 juvies and 20 odd larvae at the min. Would be nice to raise one or two of my grandlotties.
I'm seeing if i can sell/give away the eggs. If i dont get much response i'll just put them back in the big tank in the next couple of days. She's laid about 300!!

I wasn't even sure she was female...lol, I know now.

Edit: She is still laying, she's laying them on the fake log, wooden thing and big stone. Will they eat them off these?

they will eat the eggs from everywhere. Some eggs will be eaten immediately, as soon as they´re laid and some just before (and a few after) hatching.

How big is an egg? Will it be fairly easy to spot eggs among large pond stones? I hope you gave her that big worm you mentioned, she's earned it!!! :D

I'm so proud...I raised the father from an egg and i've had the mother since she was about 2.5 inches.

The eggs are small but spottable. These are white because she is albino. She spawned on everything in the tank and did about 300. So if yours does i'd imagine it would be on top of everything so you'll definately see it.

Yes she did get the worm :D, going to get her another big fat one today as she looks shattered, but has finally stopped i think!

Thank you, she dropped a couple of twins as well i'm going to keep a set of twins i think.

Thanks, Mel! I'm on the look out, Nef is quite rounded and we all already know the state Sphynx is in! lol

I know you are so proud of your little girl! Twins sound especially exciting and hope you will post pics of your expanded family when you have the time, which may be a while from now!! ;) Best wishes for you and yours!!

maybe I will see if I could hire a car for the weekend in a couple months so I could buy one I love the colour of Florence, she is the mother isn't she? Do you think you will ever know if Finley or Freddie are the father? or is it possible both of them fertilized some eggs?

Florence is the Wild who turned out to be male lol
And Freddie is the gold who turned out to be female.
Finley - Leucistic, thankfully is male.

So the mother is gold.

Finley is almost certainly the daddy, he was dropping spermatophores like crazy the couple of days before, Florence was removed just the day before the spawn and i have never seen him drop anything (he is less mature than finley)
(i'm gonna have to change their names arn't i lol)

You'd be very welcome to one of the babies, I am only going to raise a few as i have a load of juveniles and larvea from other axolotls already!
