I have a dwarf! (I think)

I had a 'dwarf'/'compact' axolotl, sadly he died. I took him for a necropsy (the perks of having vet type friends) and it was found that he had massive issues internally that appeared to be connected to his stunted growth and spinal kink. I am by no means sure that all 'alternatively abled' axolotls will be equally as unfortunate internally as mine but I would strongly recommend that if people have such individuals that they monitor them closely and take going off their food or constipation a little more seriously than they would in the rest of their animals and get them to a vet for a check up.

Thanks CJ, I have been keeping a close eye on her for months - she has a very healthy appetite and I make sure I hand feed her to ensure she gets her fair share. I've already accepted that she may not live as long as other axies, and if she appears in distress I will get the appropriate help.

@Charleybambino - I think many dwarfs have other issues such as limb deformities, and I'm kind of hoping they are sterile too.
