My axolotl homes are money pits especially the 55 gallon. Its a money pit well spent.
At least the 55 gallon+stand was a hand-me-down. At least I wont have to spend money on live plants, unless I want another kind. Having luck growing things lately.
Starting to wish i got playsand instead of Tahitian Moon that would have saved me $$$$. Anyways, I am starting to like how the play sand looks anyways, more "natural" incase anyone is debating on cheap sand vs brand name aquarium sand.
The best part is if you find friends or family to donate old aquarium stuff, it may not be the best, but it saves on the monies. Also, asking for aquarium stuff for holiday when people ask you "what sort of present do you fancy?". That is when you hope they could get you something for your axo's./ Heck, have birthday parties for your axos. Also, items from the hardware store is more affordable than decorations sold at the PetChain or local pet/fish store. well with enough brain power, one can easily do it cheap.
