How do you move eggs carfully with out harming them?

From where are you moving them? Are you taking them off a substrate, or just moving them from container to container?

alright mate i just wanted to put them in a smaller container so they can get there food much more easy!

Hi mate, what I'll be doing is putting 3-6 in to chinese food containers when they hatch - so they don't have to look far for food. Also, it helps me keep an eye on them.

I'm not risking seperating them; because they're in a solid clump and about to hatch. ..not long now :D

Lol this will be quite cool seeing how ours will grow up around the same time!

O yeah and mien arnt all albinos ever! some have black eyes and black dots along there back.

Hi mate, mine started to hatch yesterday - about half have hatched now - going to risk catching a few and moving them to smaller containers (so I can keep a head count). Looks like mostly Albino with a what look like whites :)

I'll know more when I've seperated a few. I'll keep you posted!

I have also received eggs from colin b :) they are doing fab mostly leuistics but some albino the leus are hatching out I have 24 so far (not counting two which hatched and died soon after) still quite a few to go which I am happy about as it looks like most will hatch on my birthday!! i cannot wait for some of the albinos to hatch though. the first of the brine shrimp will hatch by morning so all is going according to plan at the moment... there seems to be a lot of little axies around aat the moment.

hmm none of mien have yet hatched :( hope nothin is wrong!

What temp are you guys keeping yours at?

cute!

my thermometer says 19-20 but it always says that one of these days im gonna put it somewhere cold just to check its still working! The leus have started to hatch but none of the albinos have dont panic though as more are waiting to hatch than actually have !

ps 3 more have hatched since last post :)

added post post - -I tell a lie 4 one of which is albino woohoo

Ciaran..don't worry too much, they'll hatch at different rates, I think mine hatched over 4 or 5 days. They also develope at different rates too. Then the fun will really start!

I really wouuldnt worry either it makes sense if they are laid over a few days that they will hatch the same take into account individual hatch rates temp differences oxygenation of water and there is probably quite a difference .... you may of just received ones that were laid a little later thats all.

Well they havnt stopped developing i dont think so ill hope for them to hatch soon, im keeping the warter around 18*C and 20*C well give's me more time to prepare evan tho i am all ready fully ready for the little beasty's lol.

they do move around alot like in there eges like just shake about evry now and then is this normall?

Hi Ciaran, don't worry mate - not all mine have hatched. I've noticed the ones that have hatch seem to be light wild types (not albino as I originally said) ...a great variety for colours - I normally only get whites from my adults :)

Picked out a couple of each colour and put them in a Chinese food container - decided to leave the rest together until they've grown a little.

Wild Types are eating well - can't wait to see what shades of colour they are.

Two Albino and rest I "think" are various shades of wild type (so far) - can't wait to get home and see how they're doing.

Hope yours are doing well guys. :blob:

Sounds normal buddy! They hardly move when they hatch - except for the odd quick bust when they feel like it - or when disturbed.

They also seem to lay at funny angles when first hatched out - but they soon find their feet (so to speak).

If you see them doing little jumps forward; that's them eating stuff.

still zero have hatched being keeped at a constent temp of 18C will this drag it out a bit longer evry now and then it goes down to 17C is this ok? o and dose anyone know when t6hey were laid?

27th August mate - I keep mine at room temperature (about the same 18C) better them a little cooler than too warm (in my opinion).
