What a cool post. We got a lot of punks here! (me too) Going to see a punk show tonight. Good work everyone!

beer-tea, i don't drink any of those, its good old cider lol.

Great to see other punk rockers on caudata.org.
There's nothing to beat punk rock and newt keeping in my mind.

Morg, I love how your hand is PERFECTLY placed over the naughty on your DK shirt, never had the pleasure of them live. I'm from Minneapolis, home of two of the greatest punk bands EVER, Husker Du and the Replacements. Ahhhhhhhhh, the 80's.

Hello Andy
Me being as old as I am, I was able to see the dead kennedys play live back when they first formed and toured the UK :-}

Well they have put me in as a new "junior" member, however as you can see, I'm not so junior, but still young at heart - I misjudged the depth of a pond last week and sank in up to well past my knees, flooding the boots and not being very popular when I returned to where I was staying as a houseguest. I believe most of you will know "essence of pond", that fragrant perfume that permeated my room for a while afterwards.

I have a question - the system would only allow me to post a small photo of low quality, yet I see much bigger and better photos posted by everyone else. Am I doing something wrong - also I have an Applemac - would that have an effect? Any help gratefully received.

save the pictures as JPEG so that the file size is smaller

I guess I'll play too.

Unfortunately I did not get a chance to look for Necturus maculosus or Notophthalamus viridiscens.

That time...

  • Katia Del Rio-Tsonis:
    Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
