For newly-acquired T. shanjing or T. kweichowensis (or almost any Tylototriton with the possible exception of verrucosus), I would keep them fully terrestrial.

You've been here long enough to know where to find setup photos. Any "typical" terrestrial salamander setup would be fine for Tylototriton. The only special need they have is that they are rather large, so it should be at least 12x24" in size for 4 of them, preferably bigger.

Thanks jhunter, my Kweichows are my pride and joy. I have had them for over 5 months now. I saw yesterday where one of them was shedding its skin! I was surprised but pleased to see some of the bright colors again.

AW: Re: Housing for T. kweichowensis

Hello frogman,
here you can see my terrestrial setup of my Kweichowensis. I removed one glassdoor to take the place of a perforated metal plate, because of absence. The cause was rotting resulting gases. The T.Kw. are 5 - 6 month in this terrestrial setup and 6 - 7 in the summerhostel you saw,
ummi
