Help! New and freaking out! Unexpected eggs

Congrats on the babies! So friggin adorable and precious!!! Keep us updated!

It actually looks like a tiny 'lotl! :'D

Yussss, I love them!! The bf didn't believe me, but the tiny fetus gills make all the difference! Plus you can see the general tail shape/texture. :3 The whole eye-less thing is freaky, though. Can't tell from far away, but zoomed in so close it looks like they're slender-man-lotl's. xD I should loop up when they form eyes ^_^

THAT is amazing. Just read this thread and wanted to commend you on those pics, adorable!!!!

Quick update!!

I didn't have a lot of time, but I two semi-blurry pics to show their progress.. They look fully developed!! Anticipated birthday is wednesday, but I'm checking up on them constantly to make sure I don't see anyone swimmin' around in there! :p

My favorite part about this update is... THEY HAVE EYES! Yay! Now they look like the little chibi'lotls they are! ^__^

Great update! That is so cool! :) Now that you have come this far, what would and wouldn't you have done differently?

Hmmm. I've been thinking about it, and I'm not entirely sure. At first I wanted to say I'd have the food better prepared, because we are having shipment issues right now... But I found out that my local Petland sells brine shrimp! So, even if they hatch soon and the food *still* isn't here, I can go to petland.

Just, next time I don't wanna freak out. Haha. It wasn't worth it to worry so much as things ended up being okay.. But thanks to everyone who helped, I think this has turned out okay.

I thought yesterday would be happy birthday, but it wasn't! Waiting for them to hatch any day now. The eggs seem to be expanding as they grow

I hate to burst your bubble......but you can't feed adult brineshrimp to baby axolotls - they are just too big. Unless petland sells newly hatched brineshrimp napauli you really need to hatch your own for about the first 2 weeks. Once they are about 30mm they can move onto daphnia, so if you haven't done so already you should get a culture going.

I culture microworms for my fish. These make a good standby if the BBS don't hatch when you need them. They can be bought on auction sites and fishkeeping forums and posted to you in an envelope. They will grow in a small tub of porridge and can be harvested daily from the sides of the tub just a few days after set up.
