Do not reintroduce the axolotl into the tank until it can process and convert 2ppm ammonia into 0ppm ammonia and 0ppm nitrite in 24 hours. I'd recommend getting a source of ammonia such as Dr. Tim's ammonium chloride to help make dosing easier.
