Help!!! Axolotl jumped out of the tank!!! :( :(

Thank you guys...
I miss him a lot, its not the same looking at the tank without him :(, he was a lovely axie . Mudkips looking after me but he keeps going to Silkeys hiding place which he dosn't normally do, i think he misses him to but he comes to the front of the tank when i sit next to the glass and he's still eating so i think he's ok... I really thought he would of made it, so weird how you can grow so attached to an Axolotl well i did.. But thanks again and sorry for the bad news :(

I'm very sad to hear this, I hoped he'd pull through.

How sad. I'm so sorry. I was really pulling for the little jumping axie. RIP Silkey:(

awww........ its really sad, sorry to hear about silkey. As soon as im home im putting a cover on my tank. Ive only had my little guys a few months and would be heart broken if any thing happened to them so you must be devestated. :(
hope mudkips well and giving you little axie hugs

Thank you Vampybabe i would defiantly cover the top, iv had mine since they was tiny and was and still am really devastated when Silkey died ... :( I wouldn't want anything like that to happen to Silkeys siblings as well... Mudkip looks lonely all by himself but he seems ok, he’s eating and that, I would like to get him a new friend but it’s not the same as having Silkey :(... But thanks again and to everyone else :)

Hi,
I just read through your ordeal and I feel very deeply sorry for you, I'm having a little trouble with mine at the moment and that is just a swallowed stone! I would have gone to pot if that was mine!

And axies are sociable animals they don't like to be alone especially if they have been used to having someone in the tank with them. My sister recently added another to her tank, if you do choose to get another companion for your other axie, it is strongly suggested that when homing a new axie to distract the current 'tenant' of the tank and some people even suggest putting a clear divider between the two, just so they get used to one another....

Again, I am very sorry for your loss!

xx

Hi lucylu thank you for that and i hope your axie will be ok ... I didn't think axies minded that much about being on their own but now you have said that i think i might have to start looking for a friend for Mudkip... Ideallly i would like another leucistic axolotl so it's like Silkey never left but i would have to find an axolotl the same size as Mudkip but i will do what you said if i do find him a new friend...

Thanks again

Axolotls are not sociable animals and can live just fine on their own.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
