He hasn't eaten for a week. He is acting aggressively. He surfaces a lot to breathe. Sometimes he curls herself up and whips.

The water parameters are normal, the temperature was a little high, I fixed that.
There is no problem with the girl.

I put him in an ice bath for a while, it didn't work.

How long can he survive without food? What should I do?

Here the video link: mb is high for attach file I uploaded youtube.

increase water oxygenation.
check kh gh (Water Quality Explained: How It Can Affect Your Axolotl's Health - WSAVA 2015 Congress - VIN for levels) , if good add 2g/l non-iodised salt to the water, if bad add 50% holtfreters + 0.1g/l magnesium sulphate.
always regularly turn sand over to release debris and gas.
he is acting as if there is an issue with the water, has your other axolotl been to the surface more often?
Should I stir the sand while cleaning? Some say don't touch the sand.

There is no problem with the girl's nutrition.

Should I put it in another container when adding magnesium or salt?

axolotls have a habit of digging so when the sand hasn't been turned over for a while it releases the trapped gasses and debris into the axolotls face which is why it's best to turn the sand prior to a water change.
2g/l salt, 0.1g/l magnesium sulphate etc.. is fine to use in the tank and will benefit them both.

Thank you, how can he survive without eating?

they can survive for quite a while without food sometimes up to a month, what food have you tried him with?

I always feed with salmon fish. Do you prefer remove the sand? Because they eat sand sometimes.

normally salmon is fed as a treat or as an occasional food, having it as part of their diet is fine but better to also feed other food sources as well.
bloodworm seems to be an axolotl favourite, worms ie.. earth, night crawlers etc.. are a popular food source, live shrimp and live bearing fish ie.. mollies, guppies, platys are good for instinctive hunting whilst helping clean tank, frozen meat based foods are easy to preserve and feed, pellets are ok if unable to get fresh or frozen.
sand is fine provided it is turned over regularly although can become more of a hindrance than help.

Is Chicken or beef okay? Salmon is easy for me cutting mini pieces and freeze. If chicken or beef okay, raw or cooked?

although it isn't unusual for axolotls to eat raw beef heart liver and chicken heart (though not exactly a natural diet) there is debate as to whether it is healthy, if it is the only food he will accept then very small amounts of raw beef or chicken is better than nothing.

Thank you again, but he still not eating. I think he needs poop..

salmon oil, magnesium sulphate, sennakot, olive oil are a few things (there are probably more) that have sometimes been used to help with constipation.

there is a high possibility that the faecal matter will contain sand due to being in an environment where sand can be easily ingested with food.
tub in cold water ie.. 15°c (preferably ceramic, glass or pyrex rather than plastic tub) use lid, use either 50% holtfreters + 0.1 magnesium sulphate or if ingredients for holtfreters aren't available use 2g/l non-iodised salt + 0.1g/l magnesium sulphate (epsom salts), change water daily, give daily methylene blue baths, try feed at night change water in morning, if he doesn't improve after a week or gets worse seek vet assistance .
as for tank ensure good/high levels of oxygen, go through sand weekly moving any rocks ornaments etc.. to release any hydrogen sulphide (possibly the cause of the issue) build up and any debris if difficult to do weekly remove sand.

it's a bit of a catch 22 situation, he needs to eat so that the sand etc.. in his stomach will pass through but whilst the sand etc.. is in his stomach he won't want to eat, the throwing up his his attempt to clear/empty his stomach.

Do you prefer ice cold water bath in small tank?

ideally 15°c or no lower than 10°c for tubbing (8°c in fridge), if transferring from tub/tank etc.. to bath then back to tub/tank ensure temperatures are the same so as not to shock, better to cool down in water than to suddenly introduce to colder water.

I took him cold water and added some ice. After this rituel I put him his tank. After 10 min he poooed massive sand.. Now he is worried but I think he will be okay.

Today 1.5 month he still not eating. I am worring...

I placed a worm in his mouth and pushed it in with small tweezers today. He threw up the worm 15 minutes later. I haven't been able to feed him for 1.5 months and I think he's going to die.

He became small and skinny due to hunger.

Had a question that I just want to be sure of. My marbled newt is a little over a year old and has started to develop and I noticed that he is starting to swell a little below his abdomen. I guess I’d like to know if they are his testes or if I need to be concerned.

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!
