Growing babies~ just wanted to share and show them off

Sorry its been awhile since ive updated~ the facebook page has more pics added. they have now grown their back legs! so excited about this milestone!! woot! :D

Anyone is free to visit or add as a friend. its not my personal fb page just a page for the growth of my babies

Would love to get feed back on them. they are now at about 3month mark, can anyone let me know if they are the right size for their age.. or if theyre alil runty etc

Thanks again! ;)

I have some that are about the same age and development as yours. I was fearful that they were not growing fast enough as well. But they all seem to be healthy and very active. I have 2 now that have their back legs. I've been using tweezers to hold black worms in front of their head to ensure they're getting plenty of opportunity to eat. When its an option, I try to feed twice a day. I'll be adding more pictures of my little guys soon. I wish you the best of luck!

:D awesome! that makes me feel alot better! i use a dropper and feed them blood worms =) all of my black worms are huge lol so even cutting them up i think they may have issues hahaha. cant wait to see ur babies too! ;)

Re: Axolotl breeders in south east London

I was wondering how long you were feeding your hatchlings the frozen blood worms? :)

So here's where some of my babies are at : ) They're about 3 months.

@ froggybabe they have been feed bloodworms since hatching =) :D

@ lotl4 life those are so dang cute! they look alil bit bigger than mine, but then again mine are so see through that i dont realize how big they really are lol! wondering if im stunting their growth in the compartments they are in atm.... maybe some new digs are in order :errr: scary thought lol..

Are they frozen blood worms? Im not sure where I would get live ones. Then what kind of dropper?? :/ sorry for the questions. Your little guys look great! I have 8 that are just over a week old and one that just hatched Sunday night! :)

:D np its all good ask away!

i got the droppers from walmart in the vitamin isle right by the pill cases (for the week)
was on the top shelf. (its a 2 pack for like 2 or 3 bucks)
the bloodworms are frozen, they dont take long to thaw out, i would cut them up into smaller sections when they were smaller, so they could eat them easier, they spit them out if its too big. i get my bloodworms from petsmart the big "lunch" box of them was like 5 or 8 dollars i think. its lasted a LONG time though lol.
hope this helps :talker:

Let me know if you have any other ?s ;)

Oooh I will have to check walmart. I tried it last night and I thought I was cutting them up small enough, but there was a lot of spitting out going on haha. I will give it a try today again. Thank you though it is good to know there are more options, I dont like the microworms and they don't seem to eat them. Thank you again! :)

i also found it easier to cut them with a paring knife i got from the dollar store that only gets used for cutting worms! my other knives made a mess with them and were not as sharpe ;)

if you look close at the blood worm it has like lil segments, or sections i used that as a cutting line lol i think i started with 1 then worked my way up to see how much they would take some had bigger appetites others were lil nibblers LOL

I fed my babies on frozen bloodworm for 4 months, I used a razor blade and cut the frozen block, then I let it thaw out and fed the babies using a syringe, I found it wasn't as messy chopping the bloodworms while they were frozen, the pics are adorable! My babies were born in October and are now eating earthworms and are 7 to 12cm! Good luck with it!

I don't think the blood worm plan will work for mine. It seems that no matter how small the bites are they spit them out. They like their food moving! :) I will keep trying blood worms though, it would be nice if they started to realize I bring food!! :)
