Giant axie

There are a pair of melanoids in a vet in a small town near where I live which measure 38cm 40cm both 10 year olds.

However in the absence of any reply to the many posts asking for photos are we to assume that this giant maybe as rare as the illusive big foot ? Or is it just a matter of Faith.

I'm sure you have enough experience with axolotls to make such a clear statement of "you are lying". I've seen a 43 cm axolotl in the flesh and I've heard reliable reports of a 47 cm axolotl so I believe something in the region of 48 cm is possible.

John, I have little doubt that there are axolotls that big.. perhaps this particular individual was lying and didn't actually own an axolotl this size...

my comment was based on the fact that there were no pics posted...i dont & never have pretented to have "enough experience" with axolotls. Infact thats why i come here & ask questions; because i dont know. it is because of the experience & expertise of the contributers to this forum that i have health little axolotl fry growing in my tank right now, to which i am very greatful...
