My axolotl, Orca, has very quickly developed this fuzzy thing on her gill. It was there yesterday, but much smaller. It grew overnight I guess and while I was at school and this is it now. I need help, since I don't think there's any direct vets for axolotls in my area or around. I'm seeing a lot talking about tea baths??? But what kind of tea? What could have caused this as well? I've been having issues with alge and keeping it at bay while trying to get plant trimmings to grow

only the visible bit of fungus can be removed manually, the microscopic pieces would still need to be treated.
to treat in tank.. holtfreters can be used, if your ph kh gh are good 3.5g/l salt can be used (holtfreters and salt can/will affect any plants in the tank).
to treat as a bath.. methylene blue can be used, black tea can be used.
using higher levels of salt as a bath isn't advisable as it is very stressful and can effect the skin etc..
a level of 2g/l salt in the tank can be used to help prevent future fungal infections.

Don't clip your axie's floof and please don't result to salt water unless the fungus is unmanageable. Yours looks like it would be able to be treated with non-aggressive treatments, such as a black tea bath. There is a whole folder on this forum about treating fungus.
