I do think your tank is ready for your first axie. Do avoid overstocking though. Do not keep too many axies in the tank, especially a newly established one.

Hmm, now to decide which one. My wild type, Oliver/Norma Jean, is a little thin. I have seen it eat, but it needs some extra weight. My leucistic, Stevie/Gwen Stacy, has been seen floating once. But when I approached it went back down to the bottom. It had gotten kind of late, so I figure the water was just running low on oxygen. I have since put a small air pump in there, and no further issues.
What I hate about new pets is that I don't what's normal or not! -_-

I think I will try the leucistic, since it's easier to monitor feeding in the plastic bin.
