I like them all, but melanoid albino is my favorite color morph...other than chimeras I like how their eyes are pink but don't reflect the light.

I voted wildtype! I debated between wildtype and Leucistic but had to go with nature's choice. Also, my four new juvenile axolotls are wildtype and melanoid and they are adorable!

My favorite color is the one pictured in that old TFH book. Yes, the infamous and oft argued "Harlequin" axolotl. Now if I could only find/breed one...

Hard to choose, but I really like the colouration of the wild type! They are so varied and cute!:wacko:

Darkmaverick, axanthic DOES NOT mean "Pale pastel peach/tan hue all over with pink eyes,"it means "have no visible xanthophores or iridophores." In other words, the only pigment is the melanin (black), but there is typically not as much melanin as is present in the melanoid. So they're gray unless they also have some other color mutation at work.

I like axanthic, leucistic, and gfp about the same. I'm thinking in the future, human selection will probably render a population that is, if not positive for all the mutations at once (would look white with clear eyes and no axanthophores), then at least carriers of all of them.

I would really like to see scientists add pink fluorescent genes to axolotls like those introduced into Glofish(TM). This would probably not further their developmental research, since pink doesn't offer any advantages over green, so it will probably never happen, but still, one can wish.

Aaagh this is like asking which one of my kids do i prefer! - when i first went looking for an axie i had my heart set on a leucistic but of course ended up with a wildtype and a golden albino! At the risk of upsetting my albino (i'm sat next to the tank as i type but i dont think she can read lol!) i vote for wildtype as they have great camo markings and mine is easier to take photos of than my albino!

Not a great reason for my choice but its the only way i can decide cos i love them all!
