  • An epic struggle for the balance of the taste in the universe!

Oh dear....ceramic Dalek!!!!! Awesome! The Doctor could have a seriously tacky sci-fi nerd tank if I was that kind of person! I mean I am a sci fi nerd (clearly), but I really like to have my tanks natural looking. I think I'll hunt down a small ceramic tardis and hide it in the tank so you have to 'discover' it. giggle.

My cut and paste skills are pretty poor sorry :(

I am lucky enough to live less than an hour from the Dr Who Experience and Torchwood :D.

I work in a Forensic mental health facility which is right next to a very old school asylum type hospital. A few months ago I was on nights when I got a phonecall to say a dodgy looking bloke was at the main entrance. I went along to see what he wanted only to be confronted by a guy in uniform claiming to be from Torchwood  I sent him on his way (politely naturally) and emailled my boss, I had a reply telling me that the BBC was filming an episode of Torchwood in some of the disused buildings in the neighbouring hospital and the guy actually was from Torchwood

Axolotls were evolved specifically for inclusion in Sci-Fi, check the internet, 'tis the truth ;)

The axolotl is a sci fi critter for sure!

That is an awesome Torchwood story! Giggle.

That's brilliant CJ! Though it sounds like a pretty spooky locale to work around.

We went to Cardiff to celebrate completing our GCSEs, and I've got a great photo of my friend, sister, and I trying to infiltrate the Hub. We couldn't find the Chameleon circuit!

Just imagine what they could accomplish with a screwdriver ;)

An axie with a sonic screwdriver would just use it to bring food closer....

That would open a whole other can of worms.

( OH GOD I AM SO SORRY THAT'S TERRIBLE. )

Ha, if you like plants and things, it would look like he's landed in an alien jungle...! (Bluebell can be the alien!)

Alright, couldn't help myself. So here it is. The Doctor axolotl with a sonic screwdriver.

The Doctor remembers the screwdriver being a *lot* smaller, he also doesn't remember having gills...something seems to have gone wrong on this last regeneration.

Again done with my digital tablet. Stole the sonic screwdriver image off Think Geek and drew around it cause I was too lazy to draw the sonic.

Here is the Doctor coming in for the kill

and the strike!

I never had a chance, but he was a quick and clean killer.

Haha fantastic work mate! :D

The waxworms have been a huge hit! I've been a little worried about the Doctor, he's been having trouble with his ballast and has been spending a lot of time near the surface. The water is good, 65 degrees, parameters all fine, low current, bubbler driven waterfall filter. I think it has to do with the fact that he was in the bag so long during transport and the water in there was really bad. He's still eating and gaining weight so we'll just have to wait and see on the whole 'being at the surface' thing.

Just an update, no more floating near the surface, he's back to 'normal' axie behaviour. Not sure what that was all about.

  • Katia Del Rio-Tsonis:
Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
