Eggs a-go-go!

The price of Artemia cysts went nuts in the mid-90s and has not recovered, partly due to demand from aquaculture and partly due to poor harvests (rain in Utah).
The prices quoted are for top quality (few unhatched cysts, which is great), and quite large quantities - the dry cysts don't weigh much. Store them as batches in airtight containers in the freezer and they keep for years without loss of viability. The one's I'm presently using are at least 3 years old and as good as new. Invest now as I suspect prices will keep rising!

What are you, the company director or something? :p

The BSD ones are about 1/3 the price weight for weight for the guaranteed 90% hatch cysts. Your friend in the UK is a rip off, no two ways about it. In any case, the UK seems to be a lousy place to buy Artemia :/.

John,

Just thopught i'd let you know that currently out of the 21 eggs that I had and all hatched, I now have only 9

I ones I now have seem to be eating the daphina I got my hands on and all seem to be doing well execpt 2 that are still floating.

Im just hoping that the rest pull through.

I'll keep you up dated.

Kim,

I'm sorry to hear that. Good luck with the remainder :/. Once they are eating Daphnia I think they will be ok.

It seems nobody can match the price of brineshrimpdirect. The pet shop price for artemia cysts is more than tripple their price in the U.S. Because of the certainty of consistency and ease of use artemia is my prefered food for hatchlings.
