Question: Egg identification

I was thinking about trying to get some pinhead crickets...
Does anyone know where I can get them quickly and without a large price?
Thanks,

Pinhead crickets will not work for aquatic larvae! Right now the best thing for you to do is go buy some frozen baby brine shrimp or frozen daphnia and use that........but there is a trick to it. They won't eat it if you just throw it in, it needs to be moving. Use an air stone to impart just enough movement in the water that it barely moves the food. This is just enough movement to trigger the most stubborn larvae into eating but not enough to stress the larave. I've raised countless batches using this method without me ever having to use live food. After a few weeks the larvae will be old enough that movement isn't much of a factor and they begin feeding off of smell.

If you are looking for pinhead crickets to the feed to the sals as the get much more older, just buy some adults at a petstore and raise your own crickets, it isn't too hard and it will provide a steady supply of crickets of various sizes for the salamanders as they grow into adults, be warned though, raising crickets will make a hellishly bad smell.

And again, the members are providing you with very reliable information for raising your young larvae, and it really isn't that hard to find micro-foods nor is it very costly to gather natural pond gunk (full of tasty little treats for the little guys).
