hey ill knock something 2gether 2nite, do u want ambystoma laterale, salamandra salamandra or cynops orientalis
Darn sorry didn't see your post. If you still are up for we'd like any of those, mabey Salamandra, we don't have anything on that genus.

Don't make me whack you with my umbrella, you young whippersnappers! I'm old enough to be your...maiden aunt!

You wouldn't whack me with an umbrella, would you Dawn?

Now, now Dawn we wouldn't want you to get stressed and break your hip now would we?

Nice to see you in the thread Nathan! How's about lending us a hand?;) I heard on the grapevine that your filming skills were second to none!

Nice idea, guys. Unfortunately I don't have any equipment for filming (what is fortunate for me since I am very shy, especially in front of a camera...).

Good luck with your film!

Thanks Daniel. We're not very good with cameras either so we might sound abit nervous.

Really? I don't think I have ever bragged about having any filming skills- Other talents, however...;)

I'd love to help you two out, unfortunately, even if I did posses filming skillz (yes, a 'z'), I am lacking in the video camera department. I do have a, maybe, 30 second clip of my A.maculatum yawning if you want that though...

Edit: I think you two should Hassle Mark into making you a video :p

The more the merrier Nathan.
I was tempted to seen as how his videos are awesome, however I don't really know him all that well so I'd better not. That and he'd show us up. :p

You're welcome to any of the 3 videos I've created so far: http://uk.youtube.com/user/aartsetuyn Just let me know which.

I don't know if I have the set-up or "skillz" for a presentation piece but maybe I'll have a crack if I get time. I somewhat doubt my amateur efforts will be showing anyone up....;)

Edit: Forgot to add that I too did the D of E ~15 years ago. Great to see it's still going.

you should most Definitely post this video when you're done with it. Something fun and informative.

Thanks Mark. Would you mind if we used a few clips from the N. Strauchii and mabey some from your recent Alpestris? If so that would be a great example of there color, feeding, and mating all in one go.
If you do get time to, just send to my email adress (I beleive it's on my profile somewhere).

Thanks,
Ian

Yeh, well that's what we're hoping for. We've had a shot at filming me but I messed up due to my nervousness. We'll have to give it some practice I think.
That and we won't have any commentation, so some bit's might be abit silent.

You weren't bad! I was just that bit when your mum coughed just as we were about to finish. That was pretty funny, but otherwise I think we have done well for your sal. Now just mine to do......

I really liked the Alpestris video for most of the reasons Ian mentioned and the Strauchii video was good too. We may need to edit some of the films that people send us down though to fit them into a fairly short final film.

Oh really? Nice to know we're not in this alone!:D Although I guess you wouldn't have done quite so much filming work?

The alpestris video is winging it's way to Ian's email address as I type. It's over 20mb so not ideal for mailing. Let me know if it's delivered.

No filming in my day. Just character building activities such as mountaineering, hiking, orienteering etc. Sending small groups of kids off into the wilderness with backpack, map, compass and basic knowledge of hypothermia is probably frowned upon these days.

Sounds like a normal field trip in the UK ;) to me!

Quite frankly, that sounds like more fun to me than some of the other things we need to do. (Not really a fan of football)

Muscle building maybe. Not so sure about character building.

Ah, I see. A kind of forced "Lord of the Flies" situation.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
