Here is a photo of Deci (Quintus Decimus) in her new habitat. She loves the little boat i have in there, its her favorite place to hide!

I'll get more pics soon!

What does it mean when an axie looks like its almost sneezing? Because my axie looks like its sneezing and sand is blowing, not too much because of Deci's small size but i can tell somethings happenong. Does anyone know what this is?

looks like he/she is guarding the entrance

how about a full photo of ur tank ? i havn't seen it
dont know about the sneezing thing ?

You should see her when she's on the boat. She looks so awesome

Jordan - I have never seen an axolotl "sneeze", but I have seen them push water through their mouth hard enough to make sand move. Sort of the same move they make when taking food.

It looks very cute under the boat.

Love the boat!! My axies do that "sneezing" thing too, like Cynthia said it's the same action they perform when they take in food, but when they "sneeze", it's from them flexing their gills really hard (and then the sand blows everywhere....)

Deffo looks like s/he's guarding the entrance! Has she got treasure in there or perhaps a juicy worm? hehe

Very cute little one you got there!

Jordan, your picture reminds me of the ones my parents used to make me take. Where you run out and stand in front of a prop, or like when you stick your head through a hole, and you have the body of a lion or something? it's like Desi is saying, "here i am!"

yes she is very cute, she definitely likes to hide her worms in that boat and then eat them.

Here is a picture of my tank, the whole thing. I know the quality is bad but whatever. This picture is right after a worm expedition Deci went on.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
