I had owned two Spanish ribbed newts who have unfortunately have passed since, so i got three crested german danube newts, changed up the tank and cleaned it out but only one thing stayed, which was a piece of bamboo. So today i caught my newts dancing around the bamboo. (if this bad please tell me.)

Apparently its them just dancing to attract a mate, courtship displays. Thats all I found on this.

How is it going now? What pets do you have?
It's going just barley but at least it still is... I lost one of my northern two lined salamanders I tried putting in a small Mason jar to put live blackworms in and they stay alive and contained longer than they would in a bottle cap but the other morning I found the largest of the 2 salamanders I had floating and dead in the jar and it looked like more water from the drip wall enclosure filled up the jar and I have assumptions that maybe it was gravid and carrying eggs and that made it difficult to get out of jar. They both have gone in and out of the jar a number of times until the last one. Very sad and unfortunate and I couldn't find it's partner for the longest time until I saw him swimming in the water section so I think they were mature enough for the partial water setup but I guess it's all part of the hobby and living and learning. Hopefully I can find him another partner in the future but rn still sad and mad at myself for making such a costly mistake...apologies for such a dark sad story but feels better to tell someone...how are you and your animals?

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail. Had a question that I just want to be sure of. My marbled newt is a little over a year old and has started to develop and I noticed that he is starting to swell a little below his abdomen. I guess I’d like to know if they are his testes or if I need to be concerned.

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!
