Cynops orientalis larvae update

I kept mine in +/- 8cm water, with plants and I refreshed it as well ofcourse.

If both large gilled and small gilled newts survive, than I tend to clonclude that both ways are equally good. (in the assumption that all other factors are balanced)
Or am I missing something? Maybe large gilled morf smaller/faster to get out that water faster?

Yeah, and airstone pretty much increases surface area. I too would like to see the fit and firm"Swedish version"

The gills of the largest larvae are dissapearing at an astonishing rate. Should leave water in no time. It is apparent quite oblivious to this and continues to eat blackworms like nothing has happened.
