Celia, when you take them out, just be aware that they might not eat right away. When mine came out of the fridge (I stuck them in during a really hot spell) it took 4 days for Falkor to eat, and Aximander 5 days before she'd eat again. I don't know if that's a normal reaction/recovery time from the slowed metabolism, but don't worry if yours don't eat right away! Maybe someone else knows if this is normal?

I've just installed the new external filter which seems great so far, they are all still eating probably not enough though) but they have all lost their gill feathers. One of them still floats occasionally, but other than the gill feathers they seem active enough and will eat. Mind you, the temperature has soared to 28 degrees today. I'm still trying to convince my other half to let me put them in the fridge, he's not too comfortable with this idea.
