i cant even get my brine shrimp to hatch!im going to try it with a lamp over the top of it because i think it might be the temperature.its been 48 hours now since i set up the hatchery and still nothing so the lamp it will have to be!

all babies are hatched now and doing great and hunting down those daphnia! its great fun to watch! only had one so far that was definately dead.others that couldnt swim properly (only swimming in circles because they had deformed tails) had to be culled

.ive got plenty of decent pics now and im just about to shrink them down and put them in the picture gallery called developing eggs.actually no ill make a new one because they not eggs no more.

If the brine shrimp continue to not hatch, you could have old or bad eggs, to much salt in the water, not enough salt in the water, too much current in the hatching container.

I always use a light(60 watt blub) over my hatching container and mine hatch in 24 hours. I also put my hatching container inside an old empty aquarium I have, this helps the light add more warmth (and helps contain the mess from the bubbling salt water).

Since I started buying eggs from http://www.brineshrimpdirect.com I have had much improved hatch rates.

i bought my eggs off ZM ltd. they test all their eggs before sending them away and apparantly have good hatch rates.i think its me who is doing them wrong! im going to just stick to daphnia because ive found a place that can supply them all the time i need them and they cost 20p a bag which is really good considering they are 30-35p everywhere else!

the eggs i have are not to be used after april. i think thats the bbe date or something for that batch they had.oh well.i can always get more next year and try again if my axies have babies again. hope they do.its so much fun. and hopefully ill have left home by then and moved in with my boyfriend and my axies will have my attention all the time.
