Now for the hard part!

I found for CFB it works best to keep them terrestrial for at least a year. You want the substrate packed pretty firmly so it doesn't stick to them. And feed lots of little food(blackworms on tweezers, FF's, springtails, etc.) They are rather slow hunters so patience and frequent feeding is necessary.

This stubborn guy doesn't want to eat, I try everyday with live earthworms but no way. ¬¬

It keeps swimming and going often to water, it seems an "adult" but it doesn't control bouyancy very well hehe

Regards

Congratulations!

Still have a few weeks to go on mine!

Perhaps a combination of live foods in the water and live foods on land may help make the transition? Perhaps hatchling crickets or fruit flies (Dosophila melangaster)?

Two months later...

Well, here are my little guys after 2 months, both eating and growing ...

Way to go! I'm glad they're progressing nicely. What did you get them to eat? I currently have morphs that have yet to eat in my presence and seem to huddle together under the various hides in the enclosure. I'm trying blackworms (both via tweezers and in a bowl), white worms, springtails and flightless fruit flies. I want to believe they've eaten some of the springs and FFs, but it's really hard to tell. I do seem them climbing the walls in the middle of the night, so I'm hopeful...but it would be nice to actually see one (or all!) of them consume something!

Great minds think alike! My terrestrial set up for my morphs is nearly identical to yours!

Good to see your little ones doing so well!

Thanks both!

Dana, mine eat earthworms, bloodworms, artemia and some silverfish I found. All with tweezers!! Imagine what a job if you have a pile of juvies, it's imposible.

One of them began to eat after 2 weeks, the other after 3 or 4 weeks. I was so sad but now they both are doing it very well. They should eat alone, but at least they eat. They are consented/pampered hehe

An update of my little cynops: (both pics are of the same animal)

They seem to spend much time around water these days...
