Well, alcohol is the #1 reason for animal related deaths. We could always play a round of the popular children's sing along game, "How-many-Tar-ich-a-can-you-eat!?"
Looks like most of the input is from US people. So what's the story? When and where
. Fight it out amongst yourselves and tell me. I'm somewhat flexible. My preference is for around the end of September. I don't really want to travel to IAD unless a number of you will be there.
iad is worth it -lots show up -except for those who dont approve of it. a good many of us save up airfare and fly cross country to meet up-and the area its at is close to a few (by about 4-5 hrs) who couldnt make it...it might be the best solution...
heck we did a sal field trip the first year....but i doubt after 9/11 we can ever get into camp david again.....
some people who live in the area gave us permission one year to check out their property - and if you know where to look (like seepages right next to roadsides) some stuff can easily be seen w/o hiking long distances. maryland is a state that will issue collection permits w/o a hassle -and they cost 25$ -the only stipulation is that you send them back a report on what you caught and how many.
Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
