Blue Spotted

I have top soil mixed in with the coco fiber, it is basically all dirt, no sticking problems. I have some bark in there for him to hide in, but he just prefers to go under ground. Iv read about spring tails and I dont like the idea of them jumping out.

Watered the tank and lifted up the moss and there he was, so I took him out for a few min today. Will try and get the pics that were taken later tonight if I can.

Hey there ITHURTZ, I Saw some of ur pics and was wondering if you didn't mind sending a list what you use for substrate and how you set it up, I just got 2 small blue spotted and I'm trying to do my best to take care of them , right now they are in a decent size plastic tank from petsmart and I'm using what they said was coconut shavings? And I'm concerned that it will dry up all the water any tips? :(

For substrate for the blues I had was eco earth and natural soil. Mixed them together and that was that.

Those guys died, so now I have what I believe is a yellow spotted, he is a real live one. I never saw my blue spotted ones, but the yellow will come right up to me.

The one I have now is just in regular dirt, with a place for him to hide in. For water just have a shallow dish. Let me go take a pic of my current setup.

Here is my current setup

I am trying to grow moss haha. You can see my guy on the lower left by the rock, he stuck his head out to see what I was doing.

Here was my setup when I had the 2 blue spotted.

Well slap my face and call me Shirley! I apologize ;)

I second the mix of top soil and coco fiber. It's great.

Sounds like you are new at caring for caudates and want to do things right. The care of Tiger salamanders and Blue spotted is the same. As a beginner, you may find this article from our Caudata Culture section helpful:
