Bloat in a C. orientalis larva

Yeah, it sure was a lot of fluid to have come from such a small creature. A lot more could have come out, but my vet thought it best not to aspirate too much out in one go. The larva will be placed in hypertonic amphibian ringers while the fluid is examined to see if any bacteria can be detected, then isotonic, pretty much as Ed said he does. I've left it with the vet as there may be further fluid buildup.

How, I had no idea larva could get bloat. Interesting.

Yeah, Dan, I experience about two
cases a year with my larvae, the last case being this one in July:
