Axolotl tank

I was thinking, after the cycle, should I add all of them at once or one by one?
Also should I cycle to 3 or 5ppm ammonia?

Try around 4ppm a little higher won't be bad just not too extreme. You want to mimic the amount produced by all the axolotls but 4ppm should be plenty. If your axolotls produce more it will adjust rather quickly

Got a tank and a light :D
Still looking for filter. Will set up later in week. :) Very excited!

I set the tank up today!
Here it is:

I have a question about the lights, do they look to bright for the axolotl? There is plenty of shade for them to go if they feel spooked by the light, but should I do anything before I get the axolotls?

The tank looks great. I'm not sure if the lights would be too bright, my axolotl never seemed too bothered by the lights on his tank. If you're worried, you could add a plant like frogbit or dwarf watter lettuce, something that will float and cover some of the general area.

I would recommend duckweed but it could clog up your filter and can be quite messy. It's still nice and I do have some in a different tank but I probably wouldn't get more.

The guy I'm getting the lotls off feeds his feeder fish. I picked up some today so that when I get the lotls they can have something they're used to in case they don't take to earthworms immediately.

The dealer won't have lotls in for a few weeks so I have time to make sure everything is working proper.

My axolotl tank is normally around 20 degrees. Will axolotls suffer at this temperature?

They may have an increased appetite at this temp, its not dangerously high but i would try to bring it down below 18 C :D

To be fair the vast majority of captive axolotls are kept for research purposes and a lot of pet stock comes from rescues at the end of experiments, including ones with the GPF gene (though taking a genetically modified animal home is technically illegal). My boy Mulder is the baby of two lab rescues. I do also have Turanga, who is GPF. I'm much more concerned by the conditions at the breeder than the fact s/he is GFP.

Genetically modified animals are illegal in some countries but common in the US glofish being the most prevalent example. Idk how many people receive lab animals anymore but I think the pet trade might have overtaken the lab animal population. I got my axolotls (gfp) from a breeder whose been breeding for many years. The pet shops in the area receive their stock from breeders as well although at a more commercial condition.

Axolotls should arrive this week! Tank has totally clear and all ammonia and nitrite levels are ready.
The plan is to get one, then when the filter catches up with the bioload I'll get the other. :)
All the lil fishies are ok one got sucked up by filter but I put a net over the intake to prevent further problems. I will attach a picture of the clear tank soon.

Got my first axolotl! Named him Indiana Jones due to his adventurous nature. He's been sitting in my plants and swimming laps for the past half hour now. :) He's dark olive color and has snapped at the fish but hasn't caught any yet. He tried to eat the fish when he was in the bag and made a big splash. He's bout 5-6 inches and seems very healthy. Will upload pics later on this week. He's on the blue light now so he isn't stressed.

Picked up two more axies today. A leucistic ( white with colored eyes ) and a golden one.
The levels have been stable and I bought some from an LFS. I've cancelled the order of the 2 big ones and the ones I've gotten are the same size as my old one.
My dark one was spooked at first but now they're getting along. Will monitor levels closely of course. Will feed them each one earthworm on Wednesday. They're so cool! :)

Here is my golden one:
He is injured at the moment this pic is from a few weeks ag0
