I have had two axolotls for 4 months now. I got one from a pet shop and one from a breeder. The one I bought from the pet shop has had an odd back leg from day 1 and has always struggled with movement, but it seems to be getting worse as she's gotten bigger, having less balance than before, the leg looks like its facing the wrong way. Online I read that they sometimes don't regrow limbs perfectly and they can grow at odd angles, and they will adapt and be fine. Is this what I should do? Just leave her to it, or is there any way I can help her? She barely moves around because moving is a lot of effort and she struggles to swim up for air, but does manage, I wonder if this leg issue is what's causing her to have her gills permanently curved forward. Apart from this, she looks fine, eats fine and everything, and seems happy enough, I just want to know if I can make her life better somehow.

Hello, I’m looking for fire bellied newts that will ship to Ontario, Canada. Are there any captive breeders here? I’ve had many in the past and I’m looking to get a pair for my 12 yr old. I will be the care taker!

Hello. I’m looking for some input. My axolotl is about 7 months old. I came home and her gills are completely white. I was reading that they do shed around this age. Could this be why her gills are white? The ph is 6.5-7. Nitrates are 80 Nitrites 0.5

My axolotl’s gills have turned completely white. she is about 7 months old. I fed her a couple of pellets to see if she would eat. One hit her head and she flipped out. Started darting all around the tank. Temp, ammonia, nitrates are all in range. Anyone know why this is happening? I pu
