hi
ive been looking for pictures on the more unusual axolotl strains, but cant find any. sooo... if any of you guys have any axolotls that are slightly unusual, be it a deformity, colour strain, or just that they are plain weird, i think we'd all like to see it.
i'll start off with my "wild type" that has now got really irridescent gold spots on her tail, the picture was taken a while back, and the spots have now gon up to past her hind leg, and they have become more numerous. is this common? does anyone else have this? my other wildtypes dont have them.

i thought grace was something special
on the other hand, it must be said, that is one awesome looking axie jacob. is that a tumor on the left side, where its hind leg would be??

I really love those dark wildtypes with lots of gold in the gills and body! like mustard colour. I would like to see some golden axolotls with black eyes! Wow, I'd get me some of them!

I have two wild types with iridecent marks in the tail. One has it more than the other.

I dunno if he is something special, but he is kinda a steel gray with deep maroon gills. He has a black beauty mark near his leg and a white beauty mark on his other side...He has a light coloured tummy, almost white. Here are some older pics...His chin is also very very white. I should take pictures again....These are so old. They don't even live there anymore.

I was gonna say... it sure didn't look like a wildtype.

Ha ha, yeah... if you read any of my past picture posts, i have it listed as a "melaniod". probably just a slip of the fingers.

Here is a pic of my new axolotl it is like a green colour. Is this colour common?<center><table border=1><tr><td>

hmm, its very difficult to tell from that pic. although the colour does look quite unusual!

Sinaed- yeah they are slimmer, (believe me I know

) I meant the coloration was much like a waterdog, the Dwarf to be exact.

Ryan, if it didn't look like a wildtype, why did you say "your wildtype looks really cool?" Try not to drag every thread back to mudpuppies. There is a reason we're on the 'axolotl' board.

Stephen, they'll often change colors as they get older (mine all did :p) so it may not stay that color. But it is lovely.

Alright. Stephen I think those rocks in that picture look dangerous for the axolotl.

yea, they look a bit sharp, they might not be very good for the axolotls. i still maintain that sand is the best for them, more comfortable than the big rocks.

I have tried to make sure that there are no pointing bits of the sticking up and my new axie seems to like them because he rests his head on them.
