Right now I have just 2 adults.
The wildtype (male) is called Xotl (the guy on the avatar)
The leucistic (female) is called Frangipane

But I also had Plant, Lancelotl, Scintilla and some other nameless adults. I've sold a few and 2 of them died. And the 3 babies I have are still nameless. I like to give them names when I know if they're males or females... even if the names don't tell their gender, lol...

Hehe, my girl is named C'thulhu hence the username. I have ideas for future axies, like proteus, makara, clover (cloverfield reference lol), melusine, lusca, rusalka, yacu-mama

All of them are mythology based and I love naming things

Ours is named Dobby Jabberwocky.. Dobby because it's the house elf on Harry Potter. and Jabberwocky because is nonsense. I just really fits him for some reason..lol

My leucistic is Coco Chanel. I wanted to get a black one and name it Giorgio Armani, and then Versace and Dior etc. for future ones.

I don't know why I picked fashion designers for axolotls? My non-amphibious pets are all Nintendo characters (Zelda, Toad, Luigi, Daisy, etc.)

Mine are all named after greek gods. As there is a huge centrepiece cave/mountain in their tank. I call their home Mt Olympia. There is an area of the tank i decorated with a ring of large rocks with a centre of variegated rush (type of grassy looking plant) and a background of a brownish red plant i dont know the name. This area is called the ring of prayers. The other side of the tank is another small cave with bella palm and other assorted plants. This area is called sanctuary of peace.

My Wildtype (Dark brown with speckles of yellow and black) female is called Hera.
My Leucistic (White with black eyes) Male is called Zeus.
The Golden albino male is called Apollo.
The Melanoid male is called Eros.
The Axanthic albino female (peach colour with pink eyes) is called Aphrodite.

How funny -- I also have Greek god lotls! I have the leucistic Artemis and the melanod Atlas. I recently got two wildtypes - Dionysus and Demeter. ?

We're reading the How to Train Your Dragon books with our kids so our newly acquired pets are named after two viking characters from the stories, Hiccup and Fishlegs. My 6 year old is quite proud that he came up with Fishlegs, he knows they're not fish but according to him they are like fish - with legs so it seemed appropriate.

I LOVE the name Aristotle the Axolotl! so cute :happy:

I have recently acquired my leucistic, ageing Axolotle girl. In the past I had always heard her named "Lucy", my daughter liked a different spelling so she became Lucie. But a few days ago someone here suggested Lucie could be named by a previous owner because of being a Leusistic so we have changed again and now she is "Leucie". What ever the spelling...we still say 'Lucy' all the same.:happy:

Some great names you lot! I discussed many with my kids but went for Hellboy and Chainblade 'cos we thort they sounded cool!

Your axies sound like badasses.... Awesome names.

My first axie (who died unfortunately) was a wild type named Stitch. My second, who is alive and doing very well today, is a pink eyed albino named Ogo.
I named mine after Chris Sanders characters, since he's one of my absolute favorite illustrators. I was originally going to name my second lotl Toothless, but I couldn't get my hands on a melanoid. I already have future axolotl names picked out if I ever get more... Is that bad....?

My guy and girl are Wraith and Ghost respectively and the one I kept from their recent batch of offspring is Spectre

I got mine as juveniles (3 inches at most) and named the golden albino 'Jack' and the wildtype 'Hector'. I am a little addicted to the Pirates of the Caribbean movies hence the names. Almost one year since I got these two. Turns out Hector is a male but I am suspicious Jack is actually a female haha.

If we get a black one it will be called toothless, the kids have already decided but toothless in the books is nothing like toothless in the movies so they might change their minds as we read more.
