That's an unusual colour isn't it? Have you got a photo of the whole animal?
 
I had wondered how it would re-grow, for some reason I thought it would be adult size, thanks for posting that..your axolotl markings are similar to my Jeffrey.
 
amazing how they are able to regenerate lost limbs, one of my Sirens lost most of one of its legs when the larger one must of attacked it when the courier was delivering them, but has grew back the leg completly.

It probably will be adult size, eventually. The amazing thing about amphibian regeneration is that the regrown part is usually indistinguishable from the original. Takes time though.
