He looks more like a light copper one to me. I like his colour.He's a melanoid! but so light... that or a funky coloured leucistic. SO beautifull, what a hunter

He is indeed. He likes to change colour depending on where you are standing/looking at him.

It's been a while since I updated anything here, so I thought i'd let you all know how my critter is going.
I can't believe how much he's changed!
He looks so tiny in the photos, despite the fact he hasn't really grown much.
Ax doesn't really move the sand about so much these days, and he's calmed down a fair bit, but is fairly active (I assume) for an axolotl.
Since summer he's taken up a new activity: floating.
The silly creature decided that he likes the surface, and is quite happy to hang there watching and waiting for easy prey.
He isn't as freckly as he used to be, but is still very pretty. His colour really reminds me of sand (so I am reminded when I have a mini freak out that he's not in the tank only to notice that he's in his pot plant hide). He still has nice long gills, even if they aren't as fluffy as they used to be.
And now what you all want: photos of the goofball.
These are all quite recent, with the first one being from a couple of weeks ago (don't worry, I was testing my new lens so I was actually 3-4 meters away from him when the flash went off)
The last two need captions.
