Are we wasting our time?

While most of the people on here are reading this site to learn about proper caring and husbandry methods for our caudates, it seems they could be missing a truely huge event. Apparently there's a "SLAMANDER SUPER SALE" going on (I'm trying to remember where "Froggy" was dealing from last year). Here's the essence of the ad: (I don't know about you, but it makes me want to run out and get an "Extremely Rare European Black Salamander" to go along with my even rarer European Orange Salamander, European Sky Blue Salamander, and the ever popular, yet rare European Paisley Salamander"

SLAMANDER SUPER SALE!

I have the following salamanders in stock right now.
Barred tiger salamanders.....$10
Danube alpine newt.....$30
Dusky salamander.....$10
European black salamander.....$350(EXTREMELY RARE)
Mountain red spring salamander.....$25
Redback salamander.....$10

What about Super Happy Fun Bouncing Flying Salamanders.... ?

The idea of salamanders having babies is disturbing. Little mewling humans would squash the poor salamanders.

Dave, did you say he's got European Paisleys for sale? *counts her money* How much?

oh yeah i have an american paisely, id post a pic but since its invisible its hard to do that

Hey do you think they might be talking about alpines? And what the hell are alpine danaub newts? I think some body in the area you should check it out just to find out what they are selling. I'm surprized nobody here knows about my population of breeding giant, aqua-marine, eyeless. antarctic salamanders that come from lakes buried beneath miles beneath glaciers and feed on the last remaining population of trilobites that nobody knows exists either. I'ld sell the larvae for $1,000,000 a peice If they didn't explode as soon as I took them out of their pressurized aquarium.

Dave, doing the right thing, even in the face of adversity...is never a waste of time.

alpine danube newts are probably triturus dobrogicus. i don't know if alpines and danube great crested newts can hybridize???

doubt it though.

The figment of poor typing skills. Do you think his 'rare black european sal' is S. atra?

Hey wanna see my Giant european sky blue (Europius lodofcrapius gigantium), well here it is. I put my dog in the picture just for size comparison.

I would never leave them alone together for fear for my dog's life.

Pretty impressive animal. Have you tried to breed it. If you have any success I'm sure jv reptiles and exotics will purchase any offspring from you for the next "SLAMANDER SUPER SALE!"

Well I had juvies but when they were stolen by an evil herp smuggler, who's probably selling them at the "SALAMANDER SUPER SALE". If any body here's about "my babies" let me know. Just look out for any 6 foot long blue salamanders out there on the black market.

Ben, if that sal is 6 feet long, your desk has to be 50 feet long. And those books! they must weigh half a ton!

Oh... You think those books are real just holow artistic sculptures. I thought they would make a cool back ground not that many places where you find giant books.

For those who weren't convinced by the last photo here's one of my breeding male in a room in my house. Notice that one of the main sexual dimorphisms is the eye colour. Also Notice the skeletally reinforce crest allowing it to hold its crest up on land. I have again included the dog for size comparison, but this time I almost lost her notice how the sal is slowly approaching her with his mouth wide open.

Oh. Please take not of his many scars form territorial battles.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
