I'm a new newt keeper - bought 2 a couple of days ago and think they're great. They weren't labelled up as anything other than newts, and being new to newts I presumed they were fire-bellies just because they had orangey splodges on their bellies. My research over the past day or so has shown me they're probably warty newts of some sort, possibly fuzhongs?
Can anyone offer further advice - a couple of pics are attached, apologies for quality but they're taken with my mobile phone. Both pics are of the same newt - the other looks the same other than he's darker in colour. I think they're both males.
The second pic makes it look like the newt's tail gets larger towards the end - I think this is just the angle of the photo as the tail is pretty constant in thickness all the way down then tapers to a point.
