My problem is that I was away when the eggs were laid, Jenny, so I can't be sure!
But I have two leucistic axies and two much younger 'black' axies in the tank. (I say black because they were sold to me as that, but I now think they're actually wildtype..? Dark on top, but lighter and speckled around the legs and belly.)
Before the genetics of the thing was explained to me, I was sure it was the leucistic pair who had bred, since they're so much larger than the little black pair, and appear to be sexually mature. But Mik assures me that the leucistic pair can't have preduced dark eggs on their own, so.. who knows!! lol!
What do you reckon?

lol glad ur confused Froggy. I think i have most things worked out regarding colour but there are one or two combis I am not 100% about.
Ok Jenny your golden albino had a/a (double recessive for the albino gene and the distribution set is either D/d or D/D...can't say for certain without examining all babies).
Now your leucisitc is d/d for the distribution set but could be either A/a or A/A or even -/- for the albino gene set.
Plotting simple punnet squares will determine some probabilities of the outcome with the larvae.
However, if you don't know what D/d or A/a or punnet square means then it's too difficult to explain in here and you will need to some books on basic mendel's genetics. If you do know then download my table in the main axie topic in common name and print it at A4.
