A few quick questions, most about Notos.

Azhael.. what else is there?!? I thought brine shrimp were the best for carotenes..?

One more question  after I put sand in my tank how long till I can put my newts in? It's been about 24 hours so is it okay for me to do now? I switched from bare bottom to sand so I could get live plants (amazon swords, anarchis/elodea, and java fern) Thanks

Gammarids are simply superb for obtaining a rich red coloration.
Artemia is not bad, but it probably requires using it as an staple for a while.

Then, you also have the commercial powders, of course.

Once the sand has settled properly, which if you rinsed it well should only take a few hours, you can introduce the animals.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
