Well, today I managed to find an inhabitant for the tank: Ambystoma macrodactylum (I believe the columbianum subspecies). Here are a couple pics:

I'll see how this goes for a while, and maybe start up another tank in an 80 gal I have sitting around empty. I'm really liking Euryceas, so I might try doing something that favors them in there.

it's just a little suggestion, one of my favourite species from your area is plethodon idahoensis. they might like this set up. But i don't know if there are any in captivity, an i don't know what Washington/Idaho/Montana state laws say... Just a suggestion
 
just checked the rule book, you can only keep this species with a special permit, so unless you want to try and get one from the respective state then try another species.
 
That´s one amazing tank...i love it when ppl have taste in setting up their terrariums.
I wish i had such a laaaarge tank to try and make something like yours.
anyway...congrats.
Oh....and i agree, fire salamanders would look incredibly good in such a tank....their colours would shine in there. think about it..they are an amazing species.
