Thanks guys :) :)

Ian I have just re-read your posts and I'm amazed at the difference in the sizes (I was at work before so was trying to speed read and write lol !).

My biggest baby is only about an inch long. I'm wondering if growth rate is dependant on space as well as food ?

I keep mine in little plastic containers about 20cm long by 15 cm wide (about 7 babies in each one). Each container of babies gets about half to 3/4 of a bag of daphnia per day. I have bigger containers but thought it would be easier for them to find the food in shallow, smaller containers. Anyway when I come home each day it's all been eaten.

I think I might get more next week, although I already buy most of the shops stock - ha ha !

It makes sense that yours are on bloodworm now. I was thinking mine were too small but yours seem generally bigger so I understand now how yours are managing it ! - I think mine would still be too small - but I might try some next week.

It would be nice if they turn out to be goldens - but either way they are sweet - and it's nice watching them grow :)

Ian - would it be possible to see pics of your guys ? :)

I do have a feeling mine could be pink - they look identical to the ones my ex had that I thought were going to be golden but a few weeks later turned pink - ha ha ! It's fun finding out though :)

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
