axolotl tankmates

Hi,
I have one 3 year old axolotl in a 25/30(not sure) gallon tank, I've been wanting to add something(fish) to the tank lately.
Is this possible? If so, any suggestions?
Or is it better for me to just add fish to a seperate tank?

Adding other animals to axolotl tank can be detrimental for both. With fish involved, the axoltotl will likely try to eat them and likewise, the fish will try to eat those feathery gills that keep dancing around. Definitely use another tank to keep all of them safe, happy, and healthy!!

Your safe fish and future food additions are....

Guppies
Endlers
White cloud mountain minnow
Cherry Shrimp or other small shrimp
Ghost shrimp

Nothing else is safe as a companion/food source as they will pick on the axolotl.
