He is very cute. 2 comments though

1. pinkies are very fatty so use them sparingly

2. synthetic carpet is very bad for the delicate skin of an amphibian. It is rough, dry, and likely contains chemicals that could harm them.

thanks for the tip about carpet when i take them out sometimes would it be ok to put them on plastic, also i only feed pinkies as treats

Pinkies as treats are fine but limit it to occasionally or your tiger will look more like a hippo. His weight is great now but it is easy to bulk them up. The best option is to not remove the tiger from his enclosure. Handling increases the potential for skin injury or the transfer of pathogens from you to him and vice versa though that is a rare occurrence. The greater likelihood is inadvertent skin injuries which will allow the entry of bacteria etc. Handling also increases stress which decreases normal immune response and makes any infections / illnesses harder to fight. Not that you can't handle them, just do it as little as possible and remember their skin is very delicate and anything on your hands could easily be absorbed. Caution is the best approach.

When I change the substrate in my tigers viv, I place them in large plastic Rubermaid containers to which I have added about 1/8 inch of Spring Water. When handling, which is rare, I wash my hands well, rinse thoroughly and then wet with Spring water before picking up the animals.

Ohhhh,

Great looking Tiger! Post should have come with a warning for those of us who feel bad enough about having to send crickets to their deaths:(:violent::eek: I don't believe I could ever feed one of those poor little things. awww.

By the looks of the tail of the last pink, it's frozen/thawed. That is, they were dead well before they met the tiger.

yer it was a frozen thawed out pinkie i could never feed a live one to him its unfair, killing another mouse when you all ready have dead ones which you can buy.
