A week ago i got a beautiful Triturus Dobrogicus pair, they are CB 09 but i forgot to ask how old exactly they are , im thinking just a little less than one year old .
the female is 11,5 cm (4.5inch) and the male is 12 cm.
The male showed interest in female (tail fanning chasing ect) and his crest is getting bigger every day , obviously i don't expect to see any eggs at such young age, but this behavior still interesting to see.
hope you guys enjoy the pics( many pics)

Cute little guys. I definitely love the when the males crest up, the reason why I got the species in the first place. Looks like a wonderful pair and I bet they love the setup. Thanks for sharing.

Those are some beautiful dobros and a very beautiful set up. I too have dobros and they bred successfully and just under a year of age, so dont rule it out. Triturus mature quite fast.

Hey End. Cool pair. I Just got one this week too :D your female looks so strange i would ratter say that that was a Carnifex female!! Believe it! Dobro females are much more brown than those. So more one reason to like that one! Not every days we see a female so black... Well they are young too i guess it can get slightly more brown...Anyway congrats!;)

It´s common in T.dobrogicus to find both males and females with yellow dorsal stripes just like T.carnifex. The difference is that it always disappears when they reach maturity.
I heard it´s more common in T.d.dobrogicus and those look like they are the nominal subspecies.

My juveniles had yellow dorsal stripes. They dissapear quite quickly though. I like the dorsal stripe. Not all dobros are brown. One of my females is more of a grey color, the other females and both males are brown though.

Had a question that I just want to be sure of. My marbled newt is a little over a year old and has started to develop and I noticed that he is starting to swell a little below his abdomen. I guess I’d like to know if they are his testes or if I need to be concerned.

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
