Yes! I'm pleased to say my juvenile Cynops cyanurus have now gone into the water, all by early June. I did not have many of them, but I hope to breed this species again this year.

It's always nice to get the young'uns back in the water. Did you keep them truly terrestrial, or they just stayed on islands in a semi-aquatic setup? I've had pretty good luck keeping C. cyanurus aquatic without them turning terrestrial at all, but there are may be different strains of cyanurus with different habits.

Hi! Jennifer, these little newts were kept in a semi-aquatic setup. A small island at one corner of a small tank in about six inches [ or about 16cm ] of water. They had all left for land by early January, so I guess about five or a little more months till back into water. They are growing nicely and really love their food. I'm hoping for more eggs this season. Kind regards Richard.

Hi Richard, great to hear they are doing well! What foods are they taking now? Have you tried them on frozen food at all?

All the best
